Seasons and Cycles

Im always interested in how nature can reflect our inner world. Yesterday was the Autumn Equinox, a time where our ancestors would stop to reflect on the year that has passed, probably think about the coming season where the evenings become darker, nights longer and what they needed to survive the coming months.

We can use this time ourselves to reflect on what has passed and what we would like to invite in. Some see this as 'woo woo' but it can be reframed to suit any leaning! To stop and really think about what we are proud of. What we have achieved is something we often forget to do, we are pressing on with the next thing, the next goal. Its also helpful to think about what we want to leave behind, what isnt serving us. This can be a simple meditation, journalling or more elaborate ceremony.

The coming darker months can be a time to slow down and notice what is happening for us inwardly. We dont have the distraction of sunshine and the beauty and bounty of Summer.

There is something comforting in embracing the seasons and taking the time to notice that everything is cyclical, however hard life can feel, life is ever changing.
