'I can cope', 'Im ok', 'It comes and goes'. There are so many blocks that stop us from beginning therapy. I offer a safe non judgmental space for you to explore your Grief. We often feel that beginning therapy means that we aren't coping or arent strong enough. But to try and work through our feelings alone can be isolating and disorienting as there are no set ways in which Grief will show up.
To be able to talk to someone who is there to support you, to have a completely confidential space to share the dark scary stuff that you may not want to share with those closest to you, an hour just for you. No interruptions, can be a comfort during a time when everything feels confusing and often painful.
We were never meant to grieve alone but we live in a time where connecting with others to share our grief is rare. It is also rare to be truly heard and witnessed, without someone trying to fix us, or expecting us to 'move on'. Gestalt therapy allows meaningful change that doesnt come from trying to be anything other that who we are and what we feeling, right now. It is fully accepting this, in this moment. In short, by giving ourselves grace we can begin to heal.
