Online Grief Counselling in Brighton and Beyond. Welcome, my name is Alice and I am an Integrative Humanistic Therapist, working from a person centred, client focused, gestalt and existential approach. What does that actually mean? We will work in the here and now, looking at what is going on for you in this moment. The client comes first always, and I hope to enable you to create a happier more meaningful life. I believe that therapy is about the relationship between client and counsellor so I offer a free initial consultation to see if we are a good fit.
I work mainly online, short term and long term, and I offer lower cost therapy online. I believe that therapy should be accessible to all and we shouldn’t take a long time to be seen so I keep online blocks at a lower cost. I work within the BACP guidelines and your safety and well being is my priority.
Ecotherapy in Brighton... I am passionate about the healing power of nature so offer Ecotherapy (walk and talk) The benefits of this are three fold. The power of talking, being in nature and the bi lateral stimulation of walking itself. I am able to offer Coastal, Woodland or the stunning South Downs.
Making the decision to begin therapy can be scary, do feel free to email any questions you may have. If you are looking for a Brighton based counsellor or you live further afield and prefer online therapy, I would love to work with you
I have spent the past year and a half working for Macmillan Cancer Care and The Olive Tree Cancer Care Centre, counselling people who have been affected by cancer and everything that arises from diagnosis, treatment, adjusting to a new life, grief and loss.
I have a creative background, working as a florist for fifteen years. It was during Covid that I decided to retrain as a therapeutic counsellor, realising that people want to tell their story, connect, be heard and find ways to help themselves. I like to take a holistic approach respecting that mind body and soul are one. I have an interest in the many ways that we can look after ourselves and finding the tools that will work for you, alongside talking therapy
I am also personally interested in Buddhist philosophy, Meditation and Consciousness, the power of nature, Breath, Movement and Sound
What my clients say...
I was hesitant about counselling at first, the thought of opening up to a stranger, but from our first session my perception changed, you created a space where I felt truly seen, heard and safe. Talking about past traumas wasnt easy but you had a way of making me feel understood without judgment, your presence alone carried a warmth that turned each session into a safe haven. I found healing in ways I never expected. You didnt just hear me, you saw me.
In our daily conversations we are often listening to respond. I create a safe space for you to share and be witnessed in a non judgmental, empathic way. I aim to support you in your goals by firstly listening but offering tools to empower you to help yourself. In these busy days it is often seen as a privilege to carve out an hour for ourself, to focus on just us and our needs, and yet, what is one hour a week?
We can seek to improve ourself with the support of another or we can come to process any of life’s many curveballs or maybe untangle something that we are struggling with, that perhaps we don’t want to share with friends.
We can improve our relationship with ourself and others through exploring in a safe non judgmental space.
Throughout our life, all of us will suffer losses, from a death of a loved one, the end of a relationship or the loss of the life we have always known. Taking the time and space to process all that goes with these life changing events can help us to work through the many emotions that inevitably arise.
Many of us receive diagnoses and are left to cope with the effects, whether that is grieving what was or what will be. I will help you to navigate through.
I have worked with clients who have received life changing diagnoses, together we have worked through ways to integrate those changes.
We will have a free 20 minute consultation to check that we are a good fit to work together. I will ask you to fill in an assessment form so that we are clear of what your needs are
In our first meeting we will explore your goals, what you would like from therapy. Don’t worry though, sometimes, we just want to talk, a goal may become clearer as sessions progress.
I am based in Brighton, and provide counselling and psychotherapy to individuals in Brighton in person. Working mainly online I am able to work with clients all over the country.
Sessions can be held locally in person as ecotherapy, if you prefer to walk and talk or online via Zoom. If you would like to work with me on Zoom, please ensure you have a quiet, private space where you can be uninterrupted. This time is yours.
Healing happens in community, to share our pain with others who understand is a powerful way to process. I hold grief circles for small groups, a safe, confidential space to talk about your grief. Sessions are 1.5 hrs and in blocks of 6. You are welcome to drop in or block book but payment is required before the day so numbers are kept to 8 people or less
We will make a confidentiality agreement at the beginning of the session and agree to keep ourselves and our group safe. Please email to register your interest.

Have you ever tried Yoga Nidra for relaxation? Theres no movement involved, so no bending into awkward shapes if thats not you're idea of relaxing
What is it? Its known as Yogic Sleep, it puts you into a space between waking and sleeping. If you struggle with racing thoughts during meditation then this may be for you as you are listening to the guides voice and moving your awareness around your body with a scan and being aware of your breath. At the beginning you will sometimes set an intention to work with.
It can be used for PTSD and Anxiety, Relaxation, Insomnia, Stress and body awareness. (If using for PTSD I would suggest attending an in person class)
I recommend Insight timer, a brilliant free meditation app which has hundreds of different Yoga Nidra recordings. Spend some time relaxing and finding one that works for you. You can also find Videos on Youtube. I recommend Ally Boothroyd but its very personal and helps to find a voice you like.
